St.Thomas Convent Mainpuri, being under the Ettawah Mission Changanacherry Arch Diocese, is the first venture of our Mother Province under Syro Malabar Church. Mainpuri is a district of Uttarpradesh which is heavily crowded with Hindus. “I have come to put fire to the earth. And how I wish if it were already kindled”. Unfortunately, even after 2000 years, the thirst of Jesus was not yet quenched in Mainpuri. The Christian values were so much a felt need everywhere. The SABS reached Mainpuri with the task of reaching these unprivileged ones to the shore of the unending Mercy of God. We started our missionary apostolate such as Teaching ministry and Family visits on 2 June 1976. The newly built St.Thomas convent was blessed on 24 December 1991. At present we have a newly built parish church with many parishioners who are migrants.
